REPRESENTATIVE

Representative Volleyball in Otago occurs in the first half of the calendar year, where representative teams work towards the national inter-provincial championships, hosted each year over King’s Birthday weekend. Otago has a strong presence on the representative level, with both girls’ and boys’ teams often represented across all divisions (U17, U19, U21 and Opens). Our representative teams train and play together, often against other South Island associations in the leadup to IPCs, where they battle with the best teams from associations all around the country.

    2026 Expressions of Interest

    We're calling for representative Coach, Manager, and Player Expressions of Interest for the following teams:

    • U17 Girls & Boys
    • U19 Girls & Boys
    • Open Women
    • Open Men

    Must be available for:

    • Lower South Island Tournament: 2 May (Dunedin)
    • Inter Provincial Championship: 29 May – 2 June (Wellington)

    Coach and Manager EOI close Thursday 26 Feb, 5pm.

    Player EOI close Monday 30 Mar, 5pm.

    FEBRUARY

    26th - Coach and manager expression of interests (EOI) close

    MARCH

    Beginning of the month - Coaches and managers are confirmed

    Beginning of the month - Trial dates set

    Post nationals - Trials begin

    APRIL

    Post trials - Training squads confirmed

    17th - Travelling teams named (at the latest)

    19th - First payment due (1 of 3)

    MAY

    1st - Rep Award Ceremony 

    2nd - Lower South Island Representative tournament 

    3rd - Second payment due (2 of 3)

    8th - Bingo or Quiz night

    17th - Third and final payment due (3 of 3)

    22nd - Bingo or Quiz night

    29th - Fly to Wellington 

    30th May - 1st June - IPC tournament 

    2nd JUNE - Return to Dunedin
